Formula 1 – Michael Schumacher latest: Formula 1 legend’s manager ‘delighted’ by tribute poster

Michael Schumacher’s manager has issued a rare statement praising a tribute poster in support of the Formula 1 driver.

Schumacher, 49, suffered life-threatening injuries following a skiing accident in the French Alps almost five years ago.

Since suffering a severe head injury on December 29, 2013, Schumacher has been receiving medical treatment out of the public eye.

Now a poster designed to raise funds for his Keep Fighting Foundation has been unveiled, and Schumacher’s manager Sabine Kehm has revealed she was delighted with the tribute.

She said in a statement: “We are delighted to be partnering with ZOOM to raise money for the Keep Fighting Foundation.

“This is a stunning way to celebrate Michael’s iconic career and by the way a very beautiful poster.”

The seven-time world champion Formula One driver was airlifted to Grenoble Hospital requiring ‘immediate neurosurgical intervention’ and underwent two life-saving operations after the skiing accident in Madonna di Campiglio, Italy.

Ms Kehm has always refrained from discussing the driver’s health, insisting it is a family matter.

The poster depicts Schumacher in the car he drove to his first Scuderia Ferrari victory in te 2000 F1 World Championship.

It follows previous posters featuring famous drivers and circuits in an art deco style.

The Keep Fighting Foundation develops projects in support of neuroscience and neurological research and innovation in the field of head protection, according to its website.

The charity will receive a donation from the sale of each print.
