Soccer – David Silva breaks Man City record with start vs Wolves

Manchester City midfielder David Silva has tonight become the new owner of a club record, after being handed his latest start for the Citizens.

Man City vs Wolves

Pep Guardiola’s men are currently locked in action with Wolves at the Etihad, in a Premier League matchup.

The Sky Blues headed into proceedings on a frankly-staggering run of form over the last couple of weeks. After first getting their Premier League title challenge back on track with a crucial 2-1 win over Liverpool, City since went on to secure consecutive 7-0 and 9-0 victories over Rotherham and Burton Albion respectively.

As such, Wolves were no doubt aware that they would have their work cut out for themselves to secure a positive result tonight.

Nuno Espirito Santo’s men, for their part, though, headed to the Etihad brimming with confidence.

Wolves had picked up impressive victories over both Tottenham and Liverpool over the last two weeks, continuing their remarkable run of form versus the Premier League’s big-6.

Silva’s milestone

The starting line-ups of both sides were announced an hour prior to kick-off tonight, with City’s confirmed XI having since given rise to a new club record.
