Soccer – Last-minute Sol Bamba secures victory for Cardiff City

The Cote d’Ivoire defender was the Bluebirds’ savior as he swooped in the 90th minute to ensure his team defeat the Seagulls

Sol Bamba scored a dramatic late winner as his strike helped Cardiff City to a 2-1 comeback victory over Brighton and Hove Albion.

The visitors took the lead through Lewis Dunk’s header in the sixth minute, but the Bluebirds equalised through Callum Paterson profited from a left-sided free-kick from Victor Camarasa.

Brighton looked toothless after Dale Stephens was sent off for a serious foul play after he tore into Greg Cunningham.

And in the closing minutes of the encounter, Bamba smashed home the winner following a goalmouth scramble inside the Seagulls’ penalty area.
