Soccer – Liverpool’s Alisson on the world’s two best goalkeepers

Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson has this afternoon revealed which two shot-stoppers he feels stand as head-and-shoulders above any others on the planet at this moment in time.

Liverpool’s no.1

Brazilian international Alisson made the move to Anfield from AS Roma this summer for a hefty 72.5 million Euro.

The 26-year-old has since endured a bit of an up-and-down stint on Merseyside, with his general excellence having been occasionally overshadowed by high-profile mistakes.

Alisson came in for some heavy criticism on Tuesday night, after disappointingly allowing Crvena zvezda’s Milan Pavkov to notch his side’s second goal during Liverpool’s Champions League trip to Belgrade:

‘The best’

As such, some have begun to question whether consistency could be an issue for Alisson in the long-run, with his status as one of the world’s best goalkeepers set to come under further scrutiny as the season progresses.

The 33-time capped Selecao star, for his part, though, already feels as though he is behind a pair of goalkeepers in the world’s finest pecking order.

Speaking in an interview with Goal.com earlier today, Alisson revealed his opinion that a pair of La Liga shot-stoppers, in the form of Atletico Madrid’s Jan Oblak and Marc-André ter Stegen of Barcelona, currently set the benchmark for shot-stoppers all over the planet:
