Soccer – One Crystal Palace player got all the blame after Tottenham won 1-0

Tottenham picked up a big win in south London on Saturday night away at Crystal Palace.

Crystal Palace fans had a rough start to the evening when they learned Wilfried Zaha was out of the game an hour before kick-off.

Zaha reportedly picked up a hamstring injury before the Spurs game.

While 23 minutes into the game, Tottenham fans were cursing their luck.

Spurs have suffered a long list of injury problems this season.

Kieran Trippier has now joined the walking wounded after he picked up a knock.

However Spurs fans left Selhurst Park happy thanks to Juan Foyth’s first goal of his Tottenham career.

Last weekend at Wolves, Foyth gave away two penalties to set up a nervy finish for Mauricio Pochettino’s men.

On Saturday against Palace, Foyth was in the right place to finish off a corner in the 66th minute.

Crystal Palace’s Jordan Ayew gets all the blame

When it came to apportioning blame for Tottenham’s win, Crystal Palace’s Jordan Ayew took a shedload the flak.

Why? Because Ayew wussied out of a header from the corner which lead to Foyth’s goal.

Ayew was stood on the near post at the set piece.

How Crystal Palace lined up at the Tottenham corner

The ball dropped closed to Ayew as Palace failed to clear their lines, but the Eagles attacker made no attempt at challenging for the ball.

Where was the desire? Where was the commitment?

In short, Ayew was accused of being a coward.
